Responsibility at Palkeet

We work with mutual respect, continuous development and a shared focus on the future.

We work with mutual respect, continuous development and a shared focus on the future. In addition to these values, responsibility is a key cornerstone of our everyday operations.

We take the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals into account in Palkeet’s principles of responsibility. We want to promote decent work and economic growth in our operations, and ensure the sustainability of consumption and production practices.

Sustainably and cost-effectively

By providing high-quality and cost-effective services, we promote the efficiency of central government operations and, subsequently, the sustainability of Finnish society. By developing the overall financial and HR management processes of the state, we also facilitate smoother operations and increased productivity for our customers.

We make use of appropriate technology in our activities to ensure productivity in the services under our responsibility. Regularly tendered information systems help maintain price competitiveness, as does the use of robotics and AI in routine tasks. We maintain our ICT expertise and also provide support in automating our customers’ work processes.

Growth and development together

As an employer, Palkeet offers financial and HR professionals work and development opportunities in roles that provide a broad view of the operations of central government. We actively ensure occupational safety and fulfil all other employer obligations. Supervisory work and leadership are continuously developed as part of our ongoing operations. Working at Palkeet also means that each employee takes responsibility for managing their own work, as well as for team collaboration and occupational wellbeing.

At Palkeet, we develop and grow together, serving our customers. Our customers include financial and HR experts in government agencies, employees and citizens. We are responsible for ensuring that our services meet customer needs and that we provide an equal, accessible and high-quality service to all. We monitor customer satisfaction and improvement suggestions from customers to improve our customer service.

Indicators for sustainability and responsibility work

The effectiveness of our core operations and, thus, our responsibility are measured using the performance indicators outlined in our performance agreement. These include the price amounts and number of processed purchase invoices, sales invoices and payroll calculations per employee. We also monitor the usability of our information systems and customer satisfaction.

Our environmental responsibility is assessed in terms of travel, procurement and premises, in particular. Our premises are modern and appropriately scaled to the needs of hybrid work. We have been able to reduce travel by developing practices for remote meetings and events.

In terms of social responsibility, the most important individual indicator of our performance as an employer is overall satisfaction in the PersonnelBaro job satisfaction survey. Customer service quality indicators illustrate our performance in customer work. Information security and data protection are integral to the quality of our operations, as is ensuring continuity in the event of disruptions or exceptional situations.
